As quoted from elsewhere, One word: Sabers. Ever since the age of 11 when the first Star Wars movie premiered, I was fascinated not just with the weapon itself, but the usage, the style behind it, the discipline it takes to wield it. I've always been somewhat of a fan of martial arts and swordwork, and this was the perfect way (albeit a couple decades later) to indulge my fascination for both. And if you told me in 1977 that in a couple decades I'd be running around in red & black facepaint wielding a saberstaff at major cons around the country.........I'd say "Why wait that long?". Plus I admire what the LI Jedi wants to accomplish.
Why did I become a LI Jedi. I wanted to be part of a group that can have fun using our imagination and do good deeds for others while playing "Jedi" Plus it's filled with positive people that I'm so glad that I can call friends. :)
